2009 Opening Trip: White Water Rafting Kuala Kubu Baru

Another next planned activity will be the white water rafting challenge at Kuala Kubu Baru, Sg. Selangor. It will be the opening activity for the year 2009.
Details are as below:

Java Installation Setup

Hi all, just a quick,

Here I put some guide for Java path environment variable setup and test your java code.

After installing Java Development kit (guna kak fuzi nye version 1.6.0_04),

1. Click Start > Control Panel > System on Windows XP or Start > Settings > Control Panel > System

2. Click Advanced > Environment Variables.

3. Add the location of bin folder of JDK installation for PATH in User Variables and System Variables. <-- tukar kan dua dua

A typical value for PATH is:
C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_04\bin


ok..done, then try to test your java code, Hello world program:

1. Open notepad, paste:

BEL600 - Post Graduate Writting and Presentation Skills

First day meeting our lecturer for BEL600 paper. As usual, first day of class there is introduction session from lecturer. As stated above, Pn. Hasnah gave us first assessment to check our English writing level. 1st task, we were required to write a short writing about one of our subject that we have taken last semester. In ACADEMIC writing, not journal type, story telling type or blogging type..hehe. We're given about 30 minutes to complete it. After that, we have a break about 15 minutes, then another assessment for grammar level. This assessment, such fill in the blank task, more towards grammar exercises. Remind us back to school doing that exercise.

Along the class, its fun to learn back all those grammar rules which most of us forgotten already. After both assessment, we mark our paper and discuss about it. Pn Hasnah taught us some important TENSES which suppose to have 12 rather than 3 (Not only Past, Present and Future Tense ah.. remember that.). All the Had, Has, Have form also been taught. Finally, we have our first task to do at home (so called assignment), which is abstract reading, containing in the handout that she gave. Need to be submitted next week.

We did request for change time to 1130, Pn. Hasnah seems ok with that but we need to check with the next lecturer..ok read next. Class end at 1120.

ITT779 - Computer Performance Modeling
Lecturer : Dr. Kamarularifin Abd Jalil



First meeting with Dr. Kamarul at 1130 am. Dr. introduces himself and basic briefing about this subject. This subject basically is calculation based which the pre-requisite for student suppose to know basic about; Probability, Calculus, Algebra, and Operational Research. He mention about the assessment for his class which are:

Project** Grouping : 30%
* 3 person per group

Test (2 Test will be conducted): 40%

Quizes : 15%

Assignement : 15%

**Project basically will be using C++ programming language software / OMNET ++ software. 20% extra will be added if u're using OMNET ++.

Example of project that he gave, "Develop Network Model Simulation" from OMNET ++ or C++ or NS2 by using Gillbert Elliot Model --> Simulate wireless network.

Each group should have different model. Project should come with presentation and report submission. Report should contain every detail about the model and usage example about the model. Submission of the report will be 1 week before the semester end. All softcopy of the details Dr will forward it to Abg. Su since our beloved class rep is not around...heh.

After the assessment briefing, he start explaining the introduction of chapter 1 which is the only one chapter is all about theory and the rest later will be all calculation. Chapter one basic is all about simulation type and queuing. So prepare guys, we need to have scientific calculator in his class later on. For those did not have one, try to have it yea, ebay or lelong.com.my might help. :P ..Chapter one notes softcopy also will be distributed by abg. Su.

We did mention to change class to lab, he said the class doesn’t need computer usage, only calculation. Too bad, no more connectivity guys..hehe.

And also we mention to change the schedule time to make it at morning time, too bad also; he got class during the time. So mission changing class and swapping time for Saturday considered failed! Sorry Rahman... =(

Sand Man

25th NOV,Sunday, Tg Bidara - A group of girls from UiTM Shah Alam found an extra fascinating creature near the shore. At 0900 in the morning, those 7 girls found the creature while taking the sea breeze along Tg Bidara beach. According to the one of them, Twenie Seylenda said, "While we're walking along the beach, me and my friends initially quite scared towards the thing, it was buried with full of sand!!.., we really really scared to death.."

We then approach another 3 guys from the same group claimed that they are the one who found the "thing" first. One of the spokeperson, Abdul Rahman said,
"While swimming, I suddenly amazed and shocked after seeing something crawling beneath the sand. Then, it appears a face looked like a man.."
Those 3 guys, trying to help the "thing" which look like a human to come out from the sand.

Thanks to the girls for the picture of evidence. It took about 30 minutes for the guys to help the human out from the sand. After for a while, without CPR, the man suddenly woke up. "We all greet him, "Welcome to our world!!" ", Twenie added. Then, Ammar, one of the guys jump in, "Eh, he's not from some where else lah, this is the man who reported lost last friday!". We named him Apai, he follow us back to Kuala Lumpur and wanted to joined our class studying master in Network.

For the feedback towards saving his life, he promised to belanja us for the whole bowling game that we will organized soon. YAy! -reuters-

Alhamdulillah, the trip organized by the class of CS778 batch2007 ended successfully. It was a 2 day 1 night trip to Malacca, Tanjung Bidara in particular. The trip includes makan tengahari at Sopi's house ~the tuan rumah, sports activities, the feast of ikan bakar, Malacca Town at night and Taman Mini visits. The participation list is as below :

24th Nov
Shah Alam Contingent gathered at Pak Li Cafe, Sek 7 Shah Alam at 8.30 am (as proposed by Ammar). First arrival were Man (Ketua Darjah), aPai, Azfa, Lukman n Jemi. 9.00 am, Ammar arrives with Ema, and minutes later, all the girls were there. Lan also came with Yasmin, er I mean with the girls. So, after breakfast, we departed at 9.30 am with the intent of arriving at RnR Seremban at 10.30 am to meet up with Fuad. Along the way, we stopped to refuel at Petronas. And as usuals, someone from Twinie's car surely gonna tricked into driving her car ~ and Ema was the victim. And since Ema was quite teruja with this trip, she missed the exit into the Elite Highway and forced the SA contingent to split up with Man, Ammar and Ema going through the long way. But with no avails, they arrived at RnR Seremban around the planned time. Upon arrivals, Fuad did the official start-trip ceremony by handing out the reben bunga to each car which to be glued at the antenna. We looked like we're on some rombongan meminang which is better than looked like rombongan cik kiah ke sukan Commonwealth. 11.30 am, arrived at Ayer Keroh toll plaza and meet up with Fauzi and Fuzi + Kucai, and awaits for Sopi's arrival.

Minutes later, Sopi arrived and direct us to his house with 7 cars lining up behind his. Sopi's house is located somewhere at Batu Berendam (sorry for not paying attention, i'm just a following sheep.. pasni kalu pegi sorang2 sure sesat). So, as mentioned by Suhaimi, Sopi's house exactly in front of masjid. so, no problem for parking there. also no problem to perform solat. Nasi Briani Gam is the menu for lunch, and the boys and girls were terliur by the sight of sate and nasi briani. awal2 lagi girls dah memenuhkan dapur because of the sate (i guess), but the boys going for Briani at the start. The food was sooo delicious, same goes to the sate. Also the variety flavours of dadih from Sopi and also Zulfi, made a fantastic dessert. They have the coffee, chocolate and strawberry flavours. Yummy... sodap hingga menjilat sudu plastik.

Anis : Fauzi, anak ko ni laki ke pompuan? Ish, aku xleh nk kenal la kalau budak2 ni...
aPai : Anis, ada satu cara saje nk kenal laki ke pompuan...hehehehehe..
Anis : Ish...takkan aku nk bukak seluar diorang check kat depan orang ramai...
aPai : Apa ko pikir ni, maksud aku... caranya kena tanya la bapak diaorang, si Fauzi nieh...Ish ngko ni Anis..... ke situ plak dia..

Well...that's Anis for sure. Anyway, Fauzi ada 2 kids, the older is a boy and younger is a girl. Now you know...

Ok, after makan2, all eyes started to layu, so we decided to solat and proceed with the plan. After solat at the masjid, one pakcik approached Ammar..

PakCik : Nak, ni mana pengantin ni?
Ammar : Pengantin? xde la...
PakCik : Ye la... nengok kan ada reben kat kereta, ingat ada orang kawen.

heheeheh... x lama lagi la si Ammar ni.... dah nampak sinar2 pengantin. Neway, the full contingent moved out at 2.30 pm and went straight to the Tg Bidara Resort. The journey took around 30 minutes, and upon arriving, we checked-in and get ready to do the evening activities. Alhamdulillah, the weather was nice which allows us to play futsal outdoor, and not in the chalet.

Team B started fiercely by getting the 1st goal from Sopi. but it didn't take long for Team A to get even in the scoresheet ~ thanks to Lan, as they went with short pass strategy. The strategy works as they lead the match with 3 goals to 1, scored by Man. As both team trying hard to score, a lot of interesting movements can be seen, as well as off-target attempts and some attempt which hit the woodworks. Team B then decided to go for a long pass strategy which helps them to reduce the deficit by 3 goals to 2 as Lukman scored from 2 yards line. Team A showed such flair in ball-movement as they managed to further the deficit by 4 goals to 2 with a long range goal from Zulfi, but superb counter attack from Team B had canceled the deficit and leveled the score to 4 goals each with solo attempt from both Sopi and Kucai. Also with Ammar's great goalkeeping prevent the opponent to goal-feast. The match continued in which Team B trailing Team A by 1 goal, until when the score was at 6-5; it seems like the match going towards Team A, but with some scuffles in front of Team A goal, and luckily aPai caught a rebound and fires toward the lower left goal which leveled the score. minutes later the match witnessed another scuffle in front of Team A goal and with Kucai's attempt deflected by the defender had send the goalkeeper into the wrong way which snatched the win for Team B.

Both team showed great potential with some players to watch in future. Anyway, congrats team B.

After the Futsal match, the beach volleyball match commenced.

First set was dominated by Team A as they forced Team B to commit errors in ball-returns. During the 1st set, Kak Fuzi was substituted with Kucai kerana anak sudah menangis ditepi gelanggang. Although the team missed their pin-point servicer (Kak Fuzi), but Kucai had brought the stability into the team as he had a good reach as well as a great feeder to the team.

Second set won by Team B as their teamwork started to kicks-in. Also, with the Middle Hitter~ Lan's superb blocking and feint had helps team B to further their lead. Ema proven as a fantastic Liberos as she became the defensive leader in Team B and failing numerous attempts from Team A to score. Meanwhile Fuad's specialty ~ the NetService pretty much confusing the opponent and collects point with just his service. It's a lost to Team A.

third set displayed some great skills. some dig/dive and turnaround spike from aPai provide some entertainment to the spectators, as well as getting points for his team. Jemi's 'comei' serve and Man's Returned-Ace helps to secured the set and game. It was also contributed by Ammar's 'right-to-the-net' serve and also his 'right-to-the-net' returns. Maybe, it was not his day....

With the end of the beach volleyball match, it signals the end of evening activities. Some went back to the chalet to get ready for dinner, and some terjun into the sea to cool off the heat.
